Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Let's take a look at one of the most surprisingly great point and click Flash series out there - Submachine. Specifically, Submachine 7: The Core.
To play Submachine 7: The Core, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This entry features a wide range of environments, and what's impressive is that every single environment has their stories. This game goes back to the more traditional point and click adventure games in which you pick up items, use them in the right areas, and interact with certain objects to progress. However, this game's complexity is immense. This series has come far from the 10-15 minute first peisode. Now, you have to revisit old areas repeatedly to see if anything's changed or if you can interact with anything new.
The series trademark ominous atmosphere and fantastic sound design is at full force here as well. Each environment has a sound landscape unique enough for you to instantly place it, even if you don't know at first. Returning to every area will give you a different mood no matter how subtle it is.
If you want to experience a fantastic point and click experience, then you should definitely give Submachine 7: The Core a try.
