Minecraft is a game with limitless potential. While people constantly push the boundaries with mods adding more and more gameplay features to the point where it can straight up turn into a strategy game or just flat out be a very functional MMORPG. However, there is a ton of things that can be done with vanilla Minecraft to this day. In fact, new things are still being added to Minecraft to this day. One of them is the Hygiene Mod, a mod that forces you to shower to keep yourself clean and not get debuffed.

Installing the Hygiene Mod is simple. Make sure you have Minecraft Forge installed, then navigate to your mods folder and drag it in.

This mod adds something else other than hunger to manage. Now, whenever you're mining or buyilding, you'll sweat and you'll need to wash yourself. You need to craft soap bars which will be one of the most important components in cleaning yourself. You'll also need to craft a shower with a water source below it and also add some piping for the authenticity of functional plumbing.

You'll need to replenish soap and water from time to time otherwise they get filthy and the purpose is defeated. And if you get yourself too dirty? You'll slow down and get nauseous.

That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to just how much this mod adds to the game. Hygiene Mod is a great mod that gives you more options and you should give it a shot if you're a Minecraft fan.
