Indie Games

Creating a great videogame is always a challenging task. Doing it with a very tight budget is even more impressive. We wanted to take a moment to appreciate the indie games developers, so created an award category especially for them. The variety that this league presents is especially relevant. Engaging with an audience (or players in this case) is no longer about money, it is about talent, original ideas and hard work. Here it is our Indie Games Awards category!

Videogames do not necessarily need to be serious, and Goat Simulator proves that better than anything else. You would think that sandbox games are always supported by great budgets, then Rising World is the exception to the rule. Indie games can either opt to offer great graphics, like This War Of Mine and Transistor did, or take a completely surprising approach and focus on something a little bit different like using real video footage in Her Story or focus on just being pure fun with an ingenious idea like car soccer in Rocket league.
